Christopher Moriarty is a director in the Housing Group in Public Finance at Barclays Capital where he came over with the entire Public Finance Group from Lehman Brothers on September 22, 2008. Prior to Barclays he was with Lehman Brothers for three years. Previous to Lehman Brothers he was employed with Standard & Poor’s for ten years and supervised the bond ratings for affordable, federally subsidized and military housing multifamily bond transactions in the Public Finance Housing Group. Following Arthur Andersen he spent six years in the real estate corporate finance group at Paine Webber Inc. as a Vice Present, the last year of which was spent in Tokyo where he specialized in credit real estate transactions. After PaineWebber, Chris worked in the real estate finance and investment sales division of Pearce, Mayer & Greer and then as CFO/controller of Pembroke Capital Corporation, a real estate workout company which purchased a large portfolio of troubled real estate and mortgage loans from NationsBank. He also spent six years on active duty as an officer in the United States Navy where he was assigned as a surface warfare officer to surface combatant ships. He served aboard the USS Spiegel Grove (LSD 32) as gunnery officer and flight deck officer. The last two years of his active duty Navy tour he was the executive officer and navigator of the USS Leader (MSO 490), a minesweeper home ported in Charleston, South Carolina. In the Naval Reserve he served as a commanding officer of three Naval Reserve units. He retired as a Captain in 2001 after 24 years in the Naval Reserve.Chris holds a B.A. from Columbia College that he received in 1971. He resumed his education in 1977 and received an M.B.A. in finance and accounting from the Columbia University Business School in 1979. Chris is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in New York State and a licensed real estate broker in New York State. He also has a NASD series VII license.
