Sanjay Arya, CFA

Sanjay Arya is the Director of Morningstar Indexes and leads the Global Index Group. He is responsible for business strategy, product development, and distribution of the indexes. In this capacity, Arya oversees research that supports methodologies underlying the indexes and works with clients to build partnerships to enhance the usage and applications of Morningstar Indexes.He started the Global Index Group in 2001 and has led the development of a broad suite of equity, bond, commodity and asset allocation indexes. Arya has made numerous presentations on index-related topics at professional conferences, meetings of professional organizations, and professional education programs. His opinions have been quoted in the industry and in trade publications, and he currently sits on the review board of the Journal of Indexes.Prior to his current position, he was the director of equity data analysis and has been with Morningstar for 16 years.Arya holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, and has a master’s of business administration in finance from Cleveland State University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the Investment Analysts Society of Chicago.
