Tony Ross� 26-year career in banking has included general management, new business development, credit analysis, credit administration, and capital markets experience. Concurrently, Tony held a succession of increasingly more responsible positions within the Florida Army National Guard and U.S. Army Reserve retiring in 2012 at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, Infantry.Mr. Ross joined Iberiabank in 2013 in Houston as Executive Vice President and Senior Credit Officer where he is responsible for reviewing and approving loans to Texas corporate, commercial and commercial real estate, healthcare, exploration & production, and energy service businesses along with maintaining overall portfolio quality. Tony is also a past Chairman of the Risk Management Association (RMA) Gulf Coast Chapter, past President of RMA�s Texas Chapter, and is RMA-Credit Risk Certified.Prior to joining Iberiabank this year, Mr. Ross was Senior Vice President and Senior Credit Officer for Capital One for four years where he was responsible for reviewing and approving loans to Texas corporate, commercial, and energy service businesses along with maintaining overall portfolio quality. Before joining Capital One, Mr. Ross was Senior Vice President and Commercial Risk Manager for Wachovia where he was responsible for underwriting, approving, and managing loans to Houston corporate businesses. Tony joined Wachovia after serving as Executive Vice President and Regional Senior Credit Director for Regions Bank where he was responsible for reviewing and approving loans to Texas and Louisiana corporate, energy (both E&P reserved based and service companies), commercial, and commercial real estate businesses along with maintaining overall portfolio quality. Tony joined Regions in 2004, from Washington Mutual where he was responsible for reviewing and approving loans to Texas commercial businesses as well as oil & gas corporate credits. Tony came to Washington Mutual in 1999 from SunTrust Banks where he was the first portfolio manager for SunTrust Bank�s Ag Commodities/Food Corporate Banking division covering Florida and the Western United States. He was responsible for developing and managing the ongoing monitoring, credit underwriting, industry analysis, and internal controls for the $1 byn in commitments agricultural and food processor loan portfolio.Prior to joining the Ag Commodities/Food Group, Tony was recruited internally in June 1996 to manage a commercial banking team where he was subsequently tapped in September 1996 to manage the Bank�s traditional relationship managers within the commercial lending line of business in Central Florida during a reorganization of that line of business. Prior to June 1996, Tony held relationship management positions in both commercial and corporate banking where he banked a broad range of relationships from small business to Fortune 1000 in industries as varied as short-line railroads to major retailers. Mr. Ross was Business Banker of the Year in 1991, and was instrumental in the improvement of relations with affiliate SunTrust banks in northern and panhandle Florida.An R.O.T.C. scholarship recipient, Mr. Ross recently retired as a U.S. Army Infantry Lieutenant Colonel who served in numerous leadership and staff positions in the National Guard including Rifle Platoon Leader, Company Commander, and Battalion S-4 (Logistics) Officer. A �go to� leader, Tony had the rare opportunity to command not just one, but two Infantry Companies. During his commands he led his units through critical state active duty deployments following Hurricanes Andrew and Opal and a successful rotation through the U.S. Army�s Joint Readiness Training Center. Tony was recognized for his military leadership accomplishments when he was selected as the 1996 Lowry Award recipient given annually to the outstanding Company grade officer in all of the Florida National Guard - both Army and Air. A veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, his last position with the Army was as the Director of the Battle Staff University of the 1st Mission Command Training Brigade of the 75th Training Division (MC) where he helped train experienced leaders in the design and execution of complex exercises that train Battalion and Brigade staffs and their subordinate units deploying to Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa, and Kosovo in the Military Decision Making Process and running Tactical Operation Centers.A native of Houston, Texas, Tony was graduated from Washington & LeeUniversity in 1983 with a B.S. in Geology and received his M.B.A. with honors from the Crummer Graduate School of Business at RollinsCollege in 1988. He is married to the former Janet Lee Bragin of Clearwater, Florida. Tony and Janet along with their daughter, Tova (age 12), and son, Avi (age 9), reside in the Memorial area where they enjoy golf, tennis, and the occasional martini.
