LAFCU of Lansing, Mich., sponsored a local high school band with a $1,000 donation. The credit union has donated $10,000 since 2010 to support local band programs.
50 years of support
Fort Knox Federal Credit Union received recognition from the Association of the United States Army for its 50 years of support. The Radcliff, Ky.-based CU received a Golden Community Partner Award during the 244th Army Birthday Celebration.
The dentist isn't too bad
The Security Service Federal Credit Union Charitable Foundation donated $6,300 to a local children's shelter to expand dental care and examinations at emergency shelters. The foundation is an arm of the San Antonio, Texas-based credit union.
Hanscom Federal Credit Union donated backpacks to two elementary schools within the area. The Hanscom AFB, Mass.-based made sure to stuff the backpacks with school supplies.
