Military appreciation
Altura Credit Union honored 5,000 military personnel and their families in the 46th Annual Military Appreciation Picnic. Two dozen volunteers helped out with the free picnic from the Riverside, Calif.-based CU.

Hurricane relief donation

Toddlers, it's time to play
Thanks to Member One Federal Credit Union, a renovation of a toddler playroom at Carilion Children's Hospital was unveiled on Sept. 21 Coined the 'Toddler Zone', the new area will include activity workstations, a coloring wall and a playhouse.
Book buddies
Over 5,800 books were donated to local hospitals, community centers and special care facilities within American Heritage Credit Union's ninth annual 'American Heritage Books for Kids' program, which allows credit union members to become 'book buddies' in exchange for a $3 donation.
Backing literacy
In an effort to support early literacy for children in Monroe County, Robins Financial Credit Union contributed $1,500 to the Monroe County Adult and Community Education Dictionary and Thesaurus Program.
Keeping vets warm
American Heritage CU in Philadelphia collected 235 coats for veterans during its Inaugural Coat Drive to support the Delaware Valley Veterans Home & Veterans Multi-Service Center.
PenFed Foundation raises $800k+ for vets, military
Pentagon FCU, Tysons, Va., and its PenFed Foundation raised $800,000 for veterans, military members and families at its 15th annual Military Heroes Golf Classic. The PenFed Foundation supports more than 35,000 veterans, active-duty military members and their families each year.
Flood relief donation
Christian Community Credit Union donated $10,000 in aid to alleviate flood damage in Laos. The donation will contribute to providing food, shelter, hygiene packs and other forms of relief.
