Improving economic impact
The "Business of the Year" award was bestowed on Mora, Minn.-based SPIRE Credit Union to recognize the financial institution's success in growth, community economic impact, customer service and positive employee workplace.
Breaking records
Gerber Federal Credit Union upped its donation record with United Way after the Fremont, Mich.-based CU presented a check worth $14,254.74 to the organization.
Fighting hunger
San Antonio, Texas.-based Security Service Credit Union's Charitable Foundation presented a $6,000 donation to the Children's Hunger Fund, an organization that has served South Texas for over 10 years.
Shred it
Hosting its fifth annual community shred day, Service One Credit Union of Bowling Green, Ky., disposed of nearly three tons of paper. All shredded paper was recycled, saving hundreds of trees. A total of $1,280 was raised to support the Center for Courageous Kids thanks to donations from the event.
Helping families in need
Manhattan Beach, Calif.-based Kinecta FCU commemorated 45 years of holiday giving by distributing grocery store gift certificates to 1,000 families in need.
Community spirit
North Jersey FCU, Totowa N.J., presented its Community Spirit Award to two local business organizations at its eighth annual Business Summit at its Totowa branch.
New set of wheels
Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union in Houston awarded a new Dodge Journey to a representative of Danish Elementary during the Cy-Fair Education Foundation's "Salute to the Stars" gala. The annual event celebrates the district's top educators.
Santa? I know him!
Members of Waltham, Mass.-based RTN Federal Credit Union celebrated Member Appreciation Day. The event invited members to enjoy refreshments, participate in giveaways and take photos with Santa.
New branches
Community First Credit Union in Jacksonville, Fla., celebrated the opening of its 19th branch. The new branch is a component in the CU's expansion that's fueled by its "Branch Transformation Project."
Helping those who grieve
Robins Financial Credit Union in Warner Robins, Ga., sponsored a youth camp for grieving children dealing with the loss of loved ones. The camp assists children with the grieving process and helps them move on in their lives.
