Helping those recover
As the Sacramento Stand Down Association recovers from a $40,000 theft, SAFE Credit Union of Folsom, Calif., pledged to donate up to $10,000 to the organization that serves veterans and the homeless.
New beginnings
Ogden, Utah-based America First Credit Union celebrated its 129th branch with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Transitions ahead
Thanks to a $40,000 donation from the SECU Foundation, the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford will have more assistance in expanding its Independent Living Program geared toward young adults between the ages of 18 and 23 who are transitioning from foster care to adulthood. The foundation stems from the Raleigh, N.C.-based CU.
A helping hand
Baton Rouge, La.-based Campus Federal Credit Union assisted with the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady North American Region 2019 Haiti Food Drive. Around 3,000 pounds of rice and beans were collected among other food products and school supplies, which will benefit the Children's Hospital in Haiti.
Financial reality
Antioch, Calif.-based Delta Schools FCU received recognition for its youth financial education program.
Golfing for CUs
Ontario, Calif.-based CU Direct's Gold Classic netted $75,000, which will benefit the state foundation serving CUs in California and Nevada.
Off to a good beat
United Federal Credit Union donated $5,000 to the Four Seasons Foundation, a nonprofit focused on hospice care. The St. Joseph, Mich.-based CU's donation the group's music therapy program.
Game time
Twenty employees of Texas Trust Credit Union raised $2,755 for Children's Miracle Network hospitals through a 24-hour game-a-thon held at the CU's Arlington, Texas headquarters.
Classroom makeover
Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union of Houston, Texas, awarded nearly $2,000 to teachers in its Extreme Classroom Makeover competition. Three teachers each received $500 to update their classroom. Three runners-up each received $150.
Load the bus
Black Hills Federal Credit Union donated 120,000 school supplies to over 60 schools during the Rapid City, S.D.'s 23rd Annual School Supply Drive "Load the Bus" celebration.
