Los Alamitos, Calif.-based Southland Credit Union invited members and local residents for some free ice cream during the Memorial Day weekend.
New recreation
Edwardsville, Ill.-based Scott Credit Union supported the development of a new recreation complex with a $40,000 donation.
Revamping restrooms
The Security Service Federal Credit Union Charitable Foundation donated $10,000 to help remodel a recreation center's restroom facility. The foundation assists the efforts of the San Antonio, Texas-based CU.
Off to college
First Capital of York, Pa., awarded two high school seniors with $1,000 scholarships that will go toward paying for their first year of college.
Celebrating community development
Boulder, Colo.-based Elevations Credit Union celebrated its community development manager award that was issued by the League of Women Voters of Boulder County.
Candy for a cause
Jersey Shore Federal Credit Union fundraised for FACES 4 Autism by coordinating candy sales across its five branches. The Northfield, N.J.-based credit union raised $500 for the cause.
Assisting animals
Medford, N.Y.-based Suffolk Federal Credit Union donated $1,000 to the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons.
Helping youth
Kinecta Federal Credit Union revealed the winners of its "youth scholarships and teaching grants for growth” program where eight students each received a $2,000 scholarship and six teachers each received a $2,000 grant. The Manhattan Beach, Calif.-based CU received over 200 applications from students and 70 submissions from teachers.
Scholarly pupils
Arlington, Texas-based Texas Trust CU awarded two scholarships to high school seniors to be used for secondary education. Each scholarship recipient will receive $1,000 for each year of college, with a cap of four years.
Annual car wash
American Heritage Credit Union of Philadelphia, Pa., hosted its annual car show with Entercom Philadelphia 98.1 and raised over $14,000 for American Heritage's Kids-N-Hope Foundation.
