A+ Federal Credit Union launches search for next CEO

Kerry Parker will retire as CEO of A+ Federal Credit Union later this year.

The Austin, Texas-based institution said on Wednesday that it has retained the services of a professional recruitment firm to find her successor. Parker expects to step down around midyear.

Parker began her career in the credit union movement three decades ago and has served as CEO of A+ FCU since 1999. Over her tenure as chief, the credit union said it has grown from having assets of $300 million, 61,000 members and six branches to $1.5 billion in assets, 155,000 members and 22 branches.

The credit union, which was formerly called Austin Area Teachers Federal Credit Union, also noted that under Parker’s leadership it opened five branches in local high schools.

“Kerry Parker has provided strong leadership over the last 20 years and as a result, A+ Federal Credit Union has grown significantly, while remaining true to our vision of helping our members achieve their dreams,” Lolly Guerra, chairman of the institution, said in a statement.

A+ FCU posted net income of about $13.7 million in the first nine months of 2018, a 72 percent jump from the same period in 2017.
