Founded: 1873, under the direction of Mormon leader Brigham Young. Owned by Church of Latter-day Saints.

History: Merged with two other banks in 1957. In 1960, Church sold bank to Keystone Insurance, one owner of which was Roy W. Simmons. Family retains control.

Assets: $37 billion. 147 branches in Idaho, utah, 215 ATMs. 3,000 employees.
