BASKING RIDGE, N.J. – Affinity FCU, the state’s largest credit union, said yesterday it has been cleared to merge into it tiny Rutgers University Student and Alumni FCU, a $3 million credit union in New Brunswick.
Affinity, a $1.9 billion credit union, will add Rutgers’ three branches to its network of 16 service facilities.
Rutgers reported a $187,000 loss for 2009, a mid-year loss of $191,000 and negative net worth.
