TACOMA, Wash.– MilePost CU said Friday its members have approved a merger of the troubled $57 million credit union into Sound CU, the neighboring $420 million credit union.

MilePost, known until last year as BN West CU, had a $1.5 million loss for 2008 and a $153,000 loss foe the first quarter of 2009.
Sound CU is the product of mergers with 13 different credit unions
The combined credit union will have almost $480 million in assets and serve 44,000 members.
The merger is expected to be completed by Aug. 31.
