Alabama's Listerhill Wins Best In Show; Trio of Marketers Is Honored

MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala.-A marketing campaign from Listerhill Credit Union here aimed at getting bank customers to transfer high-interest loans over to the credit union has received the 2012 "Best in Show" Diamond Award for 2012 from CUNA's Marketing & Business Development Council.

The "Just Move It" campaign offered to pay up to $200 for loans transferred to the CU, and "Just Move It" and "Move It and Lose It" messaging was used on everything from billboards to t-shirts. The ad won "Competition's Best" of the "Best In Show" Diamond Awards.

Other "Best In Show" winners:

Best Use of Color: Annual Report from Delta Community CU, Atlanta, Ga.

Best Use of Humor: "Penny & Buck TV Ads" for brand awareness from America First CU, Riverdale, Utah.

Most Edgy: Youth logos from Generations FCU, San Antonio, Texas.

Most Sentimental: "Secret Meals for Hungry Children" community/PR program from Alabama CU, Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Meanwhile, three people were also recognized for their achievements.

Kim Wall, community development director for Georgia United CU in Duluth, Ga., was named the 2012 Hall of Fame inductee.

* Anne Legg, VP with Cabrillo Credit Union in San Diego, Calif. was named Marketing Professional of the Year.

* John Godwin, VP-business development/strategic alliances for MECU of Baltimore, Inc., in Baltimore, Md. was presented with the Business Development Professional of the Year Award.
