SAN ANTONIO – A woman who worked at Alamo FCU and her husband last week were charged with writing more than $1 million in counterfeit checks on the credit union to help finance the husband’s business.

A federal indictment charges Anna Salazar with creating fraudulent official credit union checks between 2004 and 2007 that were used to pay expenses for her husband’s business, Americas Global Granite. Her husband, Jose Salazar, also was charged in the scheme.
Anna Salazar allegedly manipulated the books of the $40 million credit union to hide the scheme.
