Two local partners, Goodwill Industries and Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools’ Transition Office, already have benefited from the courses, the credit union said, and will be on hand at the grand opening to share the impact the courses have had on their participants.

The new Center was created to assist consumers with the skills necessary to more effectively manage their money, credit, debt and financial planning. The credit union said it provides educational courses that focus on preparing individuals for life events such as: first purchases, attending college, marriage, asset building, credit improvement, money management, raising children and pre-retirement.

Financial wellness guides at the Center use a variety of tools to accommodate different learning styles and to coincide with the stages in a person’s life: from a 5-year-old just learning about money to a teenager learning about credit or a newly married couple just starting out.
