WILMINGTON, N.C. – Alliance CU will award $5,000 this weekend to the winner of its Ugly Car Contest, as determined by voters over Facebook.

Members and non-members were invited to share pictures of their ugly vehicles on Facebook during the two-month contest to celebrate the spirit of buying a new car–even as the government’s ‘Cash for Clunkers’ program has expired.
The winner will be announced during a luncheon ceremony at the credit union where the ugliest car will be on view.
