JACKSON, Mich. – American 1 FCU agreed to make up a $1,947 shortfall in the city’s project to plant trees in two local parks.
The city is replacing ash trees that had to be removed from the two parks because of emerald ash borer infestation. The total cost of the project is $4,500, the balance of which has been provided by Consumers Energy.
The trees will be replaced with white oak, serviceberry and redbud trees along in Ella Sharp Park, and red maple, skyline locust and wyman crabapples near Sparks Foundation County Park.
