Amplify Credit Union promotes insider as next CEO

Amplify Credit Union in Austin, Texas, has named Kendall Garrison as its new CEO.

Kendall Garrison 2, Amplify CU

Garrison was previously an executive vice president. He succeeds Paul Trylko, who will retire at the end of this year, Amplify said in a press release on Tuesday.

Trylko worked in the credit union industry for 10 years before joining Amplify as an executive vice president in 1989. In 1998, he became the CEO, overseeing Amplify grow from a $154 million-asset credit union with 44 employees to one with more than 200 employees and over $1 billion in assets.

“Knowing I’m leaving that mission in the capable hands of a strong leadership team gives me confidence our members will continue to be well served and our drive to bring the credit union advantage to more Texans will endure,” Trylko said in the press release.

Garrison has had an extensive career in mortgage banking and financial services before joining Amplify in 2010. He served as the senior vice president of lending for five years before being tapped as executive vice president, spearheading Amplify’s growth strategy.

Garrison will lead Amplify’s executive team to continue the progress made by Trylko in real estate lending, digital mortgages and other innovations, according to the press release.

“One thing my time at Amplify has taught me so far is that if you bring together great people united by a worthy mission, anything is possible. Paul has done that over decades and it’s an honor to earn the trust of the organization to carry that forward,” Garrison said in the release.
