SUITLAND, Md. – Andrews FCU has launched a new youth program, "Kid$ Boot Camp," during National CU Youth Week.
The "Kid$ Boot Camp" offers products and information that teach the importance of good money management. Boot$ the Bulldog is the program mascot and members can receive gifts and incentives like stuffed animals, activity/coloring books, hats, t-shirts, bags, and more. With its military theme, the giveaways have camouflage colors for girls and boys.
As a participant in "Kid$ Boot Camp," members 12 and under can join the "Cadet$ Club," which offers a savings account, quarterly newsletter, youth website with games and financial articles, and periodic incentives for making deposits.
"Money $quad" is the program for members ages 13 – 17 and teaches teenagers the responsibility of account management and credit. Teens will have the all the perks of the Cadet$ Club program but can also receive a free checking account with a Visa Check Card, a Visa Platinum credit card, and free eServices including Online Banking, eStatements and Automated Phone Service. With parental guidance, teens can monitor their transactions, use smart money management skills, and gain access to their funds.
