PALO ALTO, Calif. – A team of thieves stole the ATM from the lobby of Stanford FCU between late Sunday night and early Monday morning, the second cash machine stolen from the credit union in the past month.

The layout is such that someone needed an electronic card to enter the lobby, according to the Palo Alto police.
The police have no suspects yet in the case, but given that a freestanding ATM weighs at least 800 pounds, the crime was likely committed by more than one person, aided by some sort of wheeled cart, police said.
Police are investigating whether this week’s incident is related to a Thanksgiving theft of another Stanford FCU ATM.
