WICHITA, Kan. - (01/13/06) Credit Union of America said ithas awarded 10 small education grants to Wichita teachers to use inthe classroom under its semi-annual Teacher Grants Ideas Financedprogram. The grants, from $162 to $500 each, will finance suchprojects as: a musci program to help teach reading skills;production of a video about drinking and driving; to help specialeducation students build bird-feeders; to update audio equipment ina school auditorium and gym; and replace a set of dictionaries fora school library; to finance creation by students of aSpanish-English dictionary. The credit union is now acceptingapplications for its next round of grants.
