OREM, Utah - (02/28/05) -- A 40-year-old local man who ledpolice on a high-speed chase after robbing Capital Community CU innearby Pleasant Grove Friday afternoon was shot dead in his garageduring a confrontation with police after his getaway. Police lostthe suspect, who was unidentified, during the getaway but looked uphis license on the state's database and tracked him to his homewhere the shoot-out ensued. After police knocked on his door, thesuspect opened the garage door and began firing at police with apistol in each hand and they fired back, killing him. After theshooting the suspects wife and five-year-old child and another manliving in the home were led from the house.
