“Shila’s submission was well thought-out and received by the judges as a feasible concept,” said Ryan Reid, relationship architect at Mazuma.

Judges examined a number of entries for the challenge before deciding on Poindexter as the winner. Mazuma president and CEO Lisa Renner called the contest “an opportunity for credit unions to provide business-friendly services that promise significant rewards in future business deposit and lending services.”

“It’s just one tool credit unions can use to attract entrepreneurs and provide services that contribute significantly to the bottom line,” she added. Poindexter said she is “excited” about the prospect of her new business and “ready to dig in” to the work ahead.(c) 2008 The Credit Union Journal and SourceMedia, Inc.
