Authorities Collar ‘XXXL Bandit’

HOUSTON – A large man suspected in four area bank robberies, including two at the same branch of Associated FCU, was arrested Friday after another holdup and a car chase with police.

The suspect, dubbed the “XXXL Bandit” because of his size, allegedly robbed a bank at approximately 1 p.m. Friday. An employee chased him until deputies got to the neighborhood. The suspect led authorities on a 15-minute car chase throughout north Harris County until officers caught up to him.

Investigators believe he is responsible for at least three other robberies in the Houston area, including two at the credit union and one at a Wells Fargo branch.
