ST. PAUL, Minn. – An elusive robber who may have robbed as many as many as six area hold-ups was arrested Monday, three days after allegedly holding up the Wakota FCU in South St. Paul.

Steven Olson, 47, of South St. Paul–known as the ‘Bandana Bandit’ for his choice of disguise–confessed to robbing the credit union and at least five other area institutions, police said.
Olson was captured Friday in part because a customer using the credit union ATM saw the robbery and followed him.
Olson, wearing a red bandana, approached a teller, pointed a black handgun at her and demanded "banded" money. The teller was too frightened to respond. Olson then approached another teller, who placed 1,514 on the counter. He grabbed the cash and ran out.
