Bangor FCU Raises Money For Charity From Coffee Bean Sales

BANGOR, Maine – Bangor FCU, which raised $14,000 as part of the Ending Hunger Campaign, has rolled out a new fundraising tool and will offer for purchase 12 ounces of premium blend coffee, “CU in the Morning,” blended especially for the credit union by Savage and Sons of Bangor.

The cost of the bag of coffee is $11 and all proceeds are earmarked for the Ending Hunger Campaign. The coffee is available at Bangor Federal’s branches in Bangor and Brewer.

The credit union said it used the $14,000 to give $1,000 each to: Safe Place Community Center food cupboard, Corinth; Hope House, Bangor; Eastern Area Agency on Aging Meals on Wheels, Bangor; Crossroads Ministries, Old Town; Brewer Christian Food Cupboard, Brewer; Neighbors Supporting Neighbors, Hermon; Maine Mental Health Connections Food Cupboard, Bangor; and Family Food Pantry, Carmel. Good Shepherd Food-Bank, which has a distribution center in Brewer, received $6,060. Kristy Danielson and Jessica Farley of Bangor Federal Credit Union presented the awards.
