VERNON HILLS, Ill. – Baxter CU, a $1.4 billion credit union giant, said it has acquired Brunswick Employees CU, a troubled $7 million credit union in nearby Lake Forest, Ill.
The merger was approved by both boards of directors in early November and occurred on Monday.
Brunswick Employees CU has 1,300 members and reported losses for the past six quarters in a row, including a three-quarter loss of $75,000 for 2009.
