SEATTLE – BECU is the latest credit union to enter the private student loan market through CU Student Choice, part of the $9 billion credit union’s new effort to reach the state’s college campuses.

In recent months BECU has installed two ATMs and a branch on the University of Washington campus here; and installed ATMs at Everett Community College and the University of Washington at Bothell, according to credit union spokesman Todd Pietzch. "We’re going to other campuses, as well," he said.

In addition, BECU has also developed a relationship with two UW students, "ambassadors," who will interface with the credit union to discuss ways to better reach students. "It’s a multi-pronged approach," Pietzch told The Credit Union Journal yesterday. "The idea is to get these students informed and be informed by the students."
