Big Community Charter Heads NCUA Board Agenda

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The NCUA Board will review an application from $320-million Cinfed FCU to convert to a community charter serving more than 1.2 million people in Cincinnati and surrounding communities during next week’s monthly board meeting.

The proposed field of membership would cover about half the population of metropolitan Cincinnati.

The credit union currently serves more than 250 select groups.

The two-member NCUA Board will vote to close a troubled credit union and merge it out as part of a purchase and assumption agreement. The name of the credit union was not disclosed.

The Board also will vote to amend its fixed assets rule.
