BOULDER, Colo. – Boulder Valley CU is opening a student-run branch at Boulder High School Thursday.
The student credit union is a partnership with the Boulder Valley School District that will allow teenagers to open savings and checking accounts and apply for credit cards. Parents must cosign on the accounts, and students interested in getting a credit card must complete an online class.
To open an account, a student will need at least $25.
Officials plan to extend the program to other schools if it goes well at Boulder High.
