Brennan to Succeed Sievewright at Fiserv

The president of Fiserv's credit union division, Mark Sievewright, will be leaving the Brookfield, Wis.-based technology company to get back into the fintech research arena he left some 11 years ago and will be spending the next seven months working with his successor, Vincent Brennan.

Effective immediately, Sievewright will be moving to the newly created position of vice chairman of Fiserv's credit union division, as Brennan takes the reins as president, allowing for a long transition aimed at smoothing this changing of the guard.

Brennan is no stranger to credit unions, having started his career at Harland more than 30 years ago, moving from there to a payments-technology startup that eventually became a part of Digital Insight. He joined Fiserv nine years ago, where he was most recently president of card services.

"I've always been very focused on the credit union industry," Brennan told Credit Union Journal just hours after Fiserv announced the changes to its clients. "As president of card services at Fiserv, I've been very focused on payments, and given the massive, unprecedented changes in the payments industry – and how payments have become so important to the success of credit unions – I have the right background to take this position."

Though Sievewright will be leaving Fiserv March 31, credit unions are sure to hear more from him in the future.

"Prior to joining Fiserv, I was the CEO at TowerGroup, and I have a real love for fintech research, so I am going back to that world," he said. "Just before I came on board here, Fiserv was one of my clients, and I am hoping that Fiserv will be one of my first clients when I leave."

But for now, Sievewright said he will remain focused on Fiserv and facilitating a smooth leadership transition for both the company's associates, as well as its clients.

Kevin Gregoire, a group president at Fiserv who ran the card services group before Brennan joined the company, will be reclaiming the direct leadership of card services.
