WASHINGTON – Credit union consultants Callahan & Associates said this afternoon it hired J. F. Sean Hession, an executive with First National Bank of Omaha, as president and CEO.
Hession is succeeding Chip Filson, the owner of the well-known credit union consultants, who stepped aside last year as CEO but remains as chairman of the board.
Hession has held a series of staff and operational responsibilities at First National Bank of Omaha, which offers a popular credit card agent program for credit unions, and co-founded a healthcare transaction processing firm that grew from a startup to a $40 million corporation in five years, and was responsible for the strategic planning and daily operations of a vendor that served credit unions and community banks. The Bank's InfiCorp manages credit card programs for more than 100 credit unions.
Filson, the former executive director at NCUA, founded Callahan & Associates in 1985 with former NCUA Chairman Ed Callahan and former NCUA General Counsel Bucky Sebastian, with whom he worked at the agency in the early 1980's.
