KIMBERLY, Wis. – Capital CU kicks off its annual shopping cart races Wednesday to benefit local food pantries and three animal care associations.
Fifteen teams of kids ages 4 to 8 are signed up to race. Spectators who bring a donation of food, personal hygiene or pet care items will receive free pizza.
The children's races will start at 6 p.m., followed by the costume parade at 6:15 p.m. and the shopping cart races at 6:30 p.m. through makeshift aisles in the credit union’s parking lot.
The food drive benefits seven Fox Valley food pantries and three animal care associations. This year's goal is to collect 40,000 pounds of products.
