NEW BERN, N.C. – A car burst into flames while being driven down a main thoroughfare and pulled into the parking lot at State Employees’ CU.

There were two people inside the vehicle when it started to smoke and eventually went up in flames. Both people made it out safely, and fire crews responded to put out the flames.
Firefighters put out the blaze and stood by to be sure there were no more explosions.
No one was hurt, and fire officials still are not sure what started the fire.
