Chatfield Returns To Head California CU League During CEO Search

ONTARIO, Calif. – The California/Nevada CU Leagues said Friday that David Chatfield, its former president, will serve as interim CEO during a search for a successor to current CEO Bill Cheney, who is leaving to head CUNA next week.

Chatfield has more than 40 years experience in the credit union movement, including a term on the NCUA Board and 15 years heading the California league.

He is expected to serve as interim leader for several months. A committee is conducting an extensive search for a permanent president and CEO. The committee plans to have a new leader in office before the Leagues’ annual meetings, scheduled for mid-November.
