WASHINGTON – More than 15,000 runners from around the world criss-crossed the nation’s capital Sunday during the annual Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run, which raised $923,000 for Children’s Miracle Network.

This year’s race raised $250,000 for the Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., which helps fund hospitals in Maryland, Virginia and Washington.
Runners from Kenya won both the men’s and women’s races Sunday, with Stephen Tum outsprinting the two Ethiopian pre-race favorites to the finish line in the men’s race, and Lineth Chepkurui taking her third straight Cherry Blossom women’s race.
