CINCINNATI – Cinco Family Financial CU has served an eviction notice on the owner of an East Walnut Hills mansion featured in the 1988 hit movie "Rain Man.’
The credit union foreclosed on the house this summer when the owner, Roger Ach, didn't make mortgage payments on the 14-room home, now valued at $1.2 million. The credit union initiated legal action after the owner failed to pay $1.4 million for two mortgages with Cinco.
A Hamilton County judge signed an eviction notice on the property last Friday, giving the occupant until Oct. 20 to vacate. The house was set to be sold at auction at a Sheriff's sale in July but ownership was transferred from Ach to a trust controlled by his attorney.
This was the second time the house was foreclosed on. In 2003 Ach also was sued for foreclosure and the house was sold at public auction to an attorney for a company owned by millionaire and former Chiquita banana owner Carl Lindner, a friend of Ach's family.
