Clearwater CU Employee Recovers 1,000 Kids Books Thrown In Dumpster

LEWISTON, Idaho – An employee found something unexpected in the dumpster Wednesday when she went to throw out the trash – a pile of books, most of them children’s books, that turned out to be 1,000 in number.

“We went dumpster diving and got them out and saved all but about five of them,” said the employee.

Employees contacted Lewiston Police who are investigating. A credit union official said if the books are not claimed in two weeks, they will be donated to a worthy cause.
