CO-OP Introduces Easy Opt-In Program

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. - CO-OP Member Center, a subsidiary of CO-OP Financial Services, has introduced a program it says offers an easy and efficient way for members to "opt-in" for overdraft protection.

New members were required to opt-in by July 1; all existing members must opt-in by Aug. 15. The Member Center, which provides a call center solution, is available to explain to members how a CU's overdraft program is changing and take requests to opt-in for protection. The center will also make outbound calls to members not yet enrolled.

According to CO-OP, after taking a member's opt-in call, the Member Center reports member requests and relevant accounts to be covered to the respective credit union, which then generates a written communication to the member confirming that they have opted-in for overdraft protection. There are no set-up fees for existing client credit unions.
