LOMPOC, Calif. – Students at Lompoc and Cabrillo high schools squared off Wednesday in a taco eating contest hosted by Coast Hills CU to kick off festivities culminated in their annual football game.

The tacos and chalupas consumed in the credit union’s parking lot were provided by the local Taco Bell franchise.
Students from the two schools also squared off in a relay race, before ending the day with a barbecue dinner at the Sunset Auto Center leading up to this weekend’s big game.
The win in the taco contest has had a negative affect the past two years in regards to the Big Game. The team that lost the taco race actually won the Big Game.
