FERNDALE, Mich. – Credit Union ONE (@CUO_OU) hosted a Scavenger Hunt for Oakland University students and tweeted clues from its Twitter page that led students to three designated locations around campus.
Each location contained a prize card with a five-digit number - the first student at each location to tweet that number back to the Credit Union ONE Twitter page received $250, the second student $110, and the third $50. Nine students took home prizes totaling $1,200.
The promotion generated hundreds of Twitter followers to the credit union’s Twitter page, with many asking when Credit Union ONE would be doing this again.
"With the return of another school year, Oakland University's on-campus branch of Credit Union ONE wanted to welcome back the students and do it in a way that was meaningful and fun at the same time," said Swaminathan Seetharaman, chief marketing officer for the $760 million credit union. "Everyone these days is buzzing about Twitter, and we thought it was the perfect vehicle to engage the entire campus and show them how committed Credit Union ONE is to the OU community."
