CommStar CU Announces New CEO

CommStar Credit Union of Elyria, Ohio, has announced that David Jezewski will be its new president and CEO at the $67 million-asset institution, succeeding Ernie Jackson who will retire in April 2017.

Jackson has served as CEO since 2000.

Jezewski currently serves as the director of business development at the credit union and spent 10 years as chairman of CommStar's board of directors. A Wright State University alumnus and graduate of CUNA's Executive Management School at the University of Wisconsin, Jezewski has more than 14 years of credit union experience.

"Ernie [Jackson] has done great things for CommStar under his watch," Jezewski said in a statement. "Ernie's dedication to serving our members in Lorain County and promoting the credit union mission of service are examples of the type of leadership that I plan to continue."

Patrick Sutter, chairman of CommStar's board, said that while several candidates were interviewed, Jezewski was selected on account of his "experience and formal credit union education [which are] consistent with the board's vision for continued growth of membership and services in the community."
