DENVER – Hundreds of debit cards were rendered inoperable and phone lines were jammed yesterday when Public Service CU moved to convert data processing for the former members of Norlarco CU.
The two had been operating separate systems since Public Service acquired the failed credit union in February.
Members of former Norlarco reported their cards did not work when they tried to use them and had difficulty getting through to member service reps when they called the credit union. As many as 750 cards were affected, according to the credit union.
Norlarco members all received new account numbers, which were reflected on their June, July and August statements.
