Congressional FCU’s Long-Time Chairman Steps Down

WASHINGTON – Wright Patman Congressional FCU announced the election of James Kaelin as its new chairman of the board, replacing James Molloy, the former Doorkeeper of the House of Representatives who stepped aside after 37 years as head of the panel.

Molloy, a popular figure who gave the opening invocation at CUNA’s annual Government Affairs Convention for many years, oversaw the growth of the congressional credit union from $3.9 million in 1972 to more than $525 million. Almost half of the 535 members of the House and Senate have one or more accounts at the credit union, located in the House offices.

Kaelin, a credit union volunteer since 1998, is chief information officer for the House’s Sergeant at Arms.
