Odon, Ind. – Members of Crane Credit Union here voted to convert the $485 million institution from a federal to a state charter.
Under its new charter, Crane will now have "more flexible" membership eligibility requirements, which will allow the credit union to better serve its existing members, attract new members and conduct business in more Indiana communities, according to the credit union.
The conversion was effective Dec. 31.
"We're committed to building lifelong relationships with our members and providing quality, low-cost products and services so they can achieve financial success," said Crane CU's CEO Bob Downs. "We look forward to serving more members as a result of the charter conversion."
Consumers that live or work in some 27 counties across central and southeastern Indiana are now eligible to join the CU.
