Credit Union West has picked the Episys system from Symitar as its in-house core processing system.
The $512 million-asset credit union based in Glendale, Ariz., said it based its decision on the system's ability to support its business strategy and improve operating efficiencies.
"We identified very specific requirements for our new technology partner and platform," Scott Grundy, VP of technology for Credit Union West, said in a press release. "Our goal was to partner with a company that has a clear, focused business strategy; a demonstrable commitment to the core system we would be installing; a progressive technology roadmap; and a significant commitment to ongoing research and development."
Grundy said CU West's new core system needed to automate time-consuming manual processes, support cost-effective and easy integration with the third-party ancillary products and to provide the "contemporary and flexible functionality we need to support our evolving business strategy and make our operations more efficient."
"Our technology evaluation fully convinced us Episys is the system most compatible with our known and planned requirements, and that Symitar has the proven track record for serving its clients as a true business partner with a vested interest in each credit union's progress and performance," he said.
Symitar, a division of Jack Henry & Associates Inc. provides integrated computer systems for more than 750 credit unions. Jack Henry provides computer systems and electronic payment solutions for financial services companies. Its technology solutions serve more than 11,300 customers nationwide and are marketed through three primary brands.
