The Ionia Sentinel Standard provided coverage of a new branch of Michigan One Community CU opening in Berlin Township. In addition to providing information on the location and noting it offers different hours than the CU’s other branches, the item also quoted CEO Tim Hemenway.
Ongoing branch expansion by Summit FCU was highlighted in a report by the Buffalo News. The story noted how Summit FCU is seeking a branch presence in Buffalo similar to that in its home market of Rochester, N.Y. The report also quoted SFCU President Michael Vadala, and provided a history of the credit union, including its entrance into Buffalo following a merger with Buffalo Telephone ECU.
In an article, the Pittsburgh Tribune Review asked why, as the economy sags and credit union in Pennsyvlania have hit their lowest number in 60 years, was the mood so bright during the Pennsylvania CU Association’s annual meeting? “In these bad times, credit unions see there are opportunities for them,” said PCUA President Jim McCormack was quoted as saying. “They are not cutting back. They have money to lend.” The article went on to explain how credit unions work, and additional quoted other CU reps.
