TUCSON, Ariz. Tucson Old Pueblo CU said this afternoon it hired Vern Babilon, a long-time credit union executive and head of his own credit union recruiting firm, GVBabilon Associates, as president and CEO of the $135 million credit union.

Babilon, a former CEO at Bellco FCU in Reading, Penn., and executive vice president at People’s Trust FCU in Houston, will succeed Joe Mirachi, who left Tucson Old Pueblo in July to head $600 million Kennedy Space Center FCU in Florida.
GVBabilon is a Cypress, Texas, firm that recruits executives for credit unions, banks and CPA firms.
