CU Sends Teen To 'American Idol'

Eighteen-year-old Lauren Lynn is on her way to the "American Idol" auditions, thanks to American 1 FCU.

The high school senior won first place in the second annual American 1 Teen Idol competition at the Riverwalk Amphitheatre with a powerful pair of vocal performances.

Lynn performed the Alicia Key's song 'If I Ain't Got You' for the first round of the performance, then topped it off with the Shania Twain hit 'That Don't Impress Me Much.'

The performance won Lynn a travel voucher to auditions for the Fox Television show 'American Idol,' as well as a $2,000 savings bond from the credit union. The contest also raised $2,500 for the Jackson School of the Arts.
