WASHINGTON – CUNA said it made $160,000 in campaign contributions, including contributions to several congressional leaders working on key legislation.
Contributions went to: Sen. Richard Shelby, the leading Republican on the Senate Banking Committee ($3,000); Sen. Pat Leahy, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee ($1,000); Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell ($2,500); House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer ($1,500); as well as to House credit union champion Paul Kanjorski ($5,000) and Rep. Ed Perlmutter, who is helping draft language to exempt credit unions form the Consumer Financial Protection Agency ($2,500).
CUNA also made large contributions to: Reps. Erik Paulsen, R-Minn. ($3,100); Gary Peters, D-Mich. ($3,000); Dan Maffei, D-N.Y. ($3,000); James Himes, D-Conn. ($3,000); Walt Minnick, D-Idaho ($3,000); Alan Grayson, D-Fla. ($3,000); Mary Jo Kilroy, D-Ohio ($3,000); Travis Childers, D-Miss. ($3,000); Suzanne Kosmas, D-Fla. ($3,000); Ted Poe, R-Texas ($2,500); Dan Burton, R-Ind. ($2,500); Ciro Rodriguez, D-Texas ($2,500); Kevin Brady, R-Texas ($2,500); John Culberson, R-Texas ($2,500) and Kenny Marchant, R-Texas ($2,500).
CUNA ended the month with $732,000 of cash on hand in its political action committee.
